God speed the plough....a common Victorian theme and in pottery it makes for a wonderful imagary. Even in just plain black transfer the icons used are very powerful and decorative. I am sure that life in rural Victorian England was very hard work.....Im glad its over!

Jug with sailing ships and steam ships
This jug has a nautical theme and is a stunning example of transfer printed pottery. Its colourful and is filled with detail...an excellent historical item.
Going to the Derby
This jug is pleasantly decorated and rather humurous. Ive not seen another but I'm sure a lot of them were made...the manufacturer is Copeland and sons and is very well marked, they were rightly proud of their product.

Famille plate
Hi this is a Famille plate, its very well decorated with spectacular dragons and is 13 1/5 " across. It is tin glazed and is full of blow holes underneath...and heavy, it has no marks on it. As with all my items if you have any information I would be grateful to hear from you.
Who made this?
Hi,
this is a very old Lion on a plinth...I thought he may be an early model with a salt glaze. Again there is some damage but this old boy could well be 300 years old so a few knocks are to be expected. Another theory is that he is actually early Dutch delft? Or maybe Leeds creamware...it should be obvious now that I'm not sure at all what he actually is-do you have a theory?

Japanese Tea Pot,
Hi
this lovely pot looks like black basalt ware overlaid with pewter. Obviously this piece has suffered what can be described as severe trauma to its pouring handle. Personally I love this item, it has oriental charm and quality....plus rarity value.
The mark is believed to be the Province of the imperial revenues, Idsoumi. If any one knows different or has any further information I would really like to know more about this my email is carlulverston@hotmail.co.uk
thanks in advance...please gaze and enjoy.
